Joe Mixon taken off Pats board (merged)

Quote:Tyreek Hill pled guilty to domestic abuse in 2014 when he choked his pregnant GF.... Apparently no one cares anymore.

Mixon will be drafted and people will soon forget with him too.

Dude, there is tape of the Mixon incident. That makes all the difference in the world. It won't be forgotten so easily, because people actually saw the incident.

It looks like someone took a dump on his shoulder. Why would anyone do that to themselves?

Yea it will.

NFL forgets a lot of things if you play well. People will forget Mixon too.

Yep, we've had how many AD FA threads on here...at least half a dozen? I haven't once seen someone say they wouldn't sign him because of beating his child with a switch despite there being nasty pictures of that too.

The Mixon issue will be a thing for a little bit but it will be a footnote before his rookie season is even over and the next flavor of the month outrage is upon us.

That's because there are so many other reasons not to sign A.D. Some of us would refuse to root for him because of the incident with his kid, but it's so obvious that he's a non-factor for this team due to the depth of the RB class in the draft, he's older and no longer has "it" and he supposedly wants way more money than he's worth and a starting job. Not to mention seeing the aftermath of a beating is less effective than seeing the actual beating that is taking place.

Not condoning men hitting women, but I just want to understand the logic.  Bear with me.

It seems much of the outrage is based upon the differences in size and strength of the parties involved, with the woman in this case obviously being much smaller and less powerful than Mixon.

If this were a much smaller and weaker male that Mixon hit, would that change the analysis?

What if she were a very large female, over 6' and well over 200 lbs?

Were she a trained fighter-a black belt in a martial art-what then?

Is there a general obligation that all fights have to be an equal match?

The biggest problem for me is by the time he decked her, it wasn't a reaction. He followed her into whatever place of business she went into, got in her face, she seems to out her hands on him to push him away from her and you can tell from the video it had the same effect as someone trying to push down an oak tree, THEN he decked her.

He had a million chances to walk away and you can't tell me it was instinct to hit her like that after her feeble attempt at pushing him away. He had plenty of time to think about it and still punched her lights out.

I've said what I'll say about second chances but anyone saying equal rights or equal treatment is an idiot.

There's no video proof of her doing anything close to equal what he did. And yeah if it we're a much smaller man than mixon, I'd feel the same. If the chick was the same size as mixon, I'd probably think of it as not as bad, but women are naturally weaker and more fragile than men, we all know that. It's not cool to u load on someone obviously weaker than you.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Girl walks into restaurant with friend. Mixon follows them in (he didn't need to follow he could have done something...anything else).

They exchange words she pushes him away he then acts like he's going to hit her then STOPS (could have walked away) she slaps him after he acts like hes going to punch her. He then punches her then very quickly walks away.

Mixon was looking for trouble, found it and got a tap on the wrist for it. He had multiple chances in the video alone to remove himself from the situation he didn't.

And this isnt his only incident at Oklahoma. He was suspended this past season for a game

Quote:Just so I'm clear, if he were to be attacked by a 5 year old child and he broke their face, you would consider that self defense as well?

If you read his response, and who knows if it's true, he said "felt like a dude hit me". If a 5 year old girl hit him with the force of a man then yeah...i can't really blame him for his natural reaction. If a guy, women, or child hit you in the back of the head with the force of a man, many people's reaction would to be to turn and hit back before you even realize gender or age

Woman must be at least 6'2" and over 180 lbs. Must be able to bench press at least 200 lbs. Unless she is trained in martial arts then she can be 5'8 and over 155, but still must be able to bench 200 lbs, unless her max squat is over 300 in which that case the max bench is accepted at 175 lbs. If she uses male or transgender restroom anything goes

Say a five year old stranger was running at you with a gun...would you hesitate to clock him/her?

1) Why is a 5 year old chasing you with a gun in the first place 2) Why not just take it off them

My first hypothetical I said a 5 year old hitting with the force of a man, obviously both are very unlikely situations. And I'm not about to attempt to disarm a crazy screaming 5year old with a loaded gun. Point is it's opinionated on where to draw the line

What if a five year old had accessed alien technology and was about to fire a laser at a bus filled with all of the world's leaders?!

What if a five year old was riding a grizzly and had your wife trapped in a corner!?
