Kind of odd timing after being acquitted of his double murder charge a few days ago. Of course he was still going to spend the rest of his life in jail after his other conviction despite Jose Baez's claim that he was going to appeal that conviction and get him out of jail. What a strange and cautionary tale Aaron Hernandez is. I read up on him and apparently the death of his father in his teen years altered his life forever. That said, I feel zero sympathy for him. I hope his victims' families can take solace in the fact that he's no longer here and can't hurt anyybody else. Living the thug life doesn't mesh well with being an NFL star.

Roger G. just fined him.

To soon?

Kind of odd occurrence after being acquitted of double murder. My guess is that the immediate high of that right back to the reality you weren't going anywhere had a psychological effect. Also probably his inability to pay the attorney to fight his appeal of the first murder had something to do with it. On top of that, the thought of being dead broke even of he were to get out had something to do with it.

All guesses. Only he and God know what was going through his mind.

The tinfoil hat wearing cynic in me does not think this was a suicide.

I feel no sympathy for him. I lost my father in my teen years too and didn't take the first train to dumbassville.

I feel sorry for his daughter. That little girl didn't deserve a [BLEEP] for a father.

i agree. I've lost a lot of important people in my younger years but I didn't do the absolute most selfish thing you can do in life. I have ZERO sympathy for someone that commits suicide.

Other than feeling bad for the daughter, I hope he rots in hell. I actually felt thankful so everyone can move on and forget about this bad guy.

It's attitudes like this that keep people with mental illness from coming forward and getting help. Depression is a real condition and I feel sympathy for those who suffer from it and committ suicide because of it.

I feel zero sympathy for Hernandez because he murdered people.

I have no sympathy for Hernandez, but the whole situation makes me sad. So many ruined lives.

Wow really? I've suffered from depression before and still have my moments. I also have ADHD as well, please tell me more about mental illnesses. So while you're on your soapbox, remember more people in this world don't kill themselves while also having a mental illness than ones that do. Any justification of suicide is plain idiotic. It's selfish, period.

Such a tragic end and waste of a human life.

That being said, he made the decision to live the lifestyle (thug life) that he chose.  He went from being a star athlete to a convict.  Who knows what was going through his mind?  Perhaps his failure to capitalize on his unique opportunity?  Maybe he got "turned out" in prison and was someone's [BLEEP]?  Who knows?

I feel bad not only for him, but for his family and those close to him.

He realized he was a killer and took his own life.

Really. My best friend committed suicide after suffering from a mental illness. I don't consider it a selfish act. He had a great life and a beautiful new wife. I'm not on a soapbox, I have empathy for people such as yourself and my best friend who took his own life.

I have to agree with you. I've been down that path myself, it sucks really. When you feel that way, you don't see it as selfish at all. While it might be a selfish thing to do, when you're in that position your whole existence hurts so bad it almost causes physical pain.

I turned to alcohol when I was at my lowest. Luckily, after a move to Tampa, I met my wife and she showed me how great life can be. We have a beautiful daughter and I couldn't imagine not being here for them.

Sadly, too many people don't find the support I found. I have a lot of sympathy for suicide. Until you've been to that point, it's hard for anyone to understand
