Nice job getting Fournette in the draft. I still have some hope that Bortles works out for you guys. However if he doesn't you'll be in good position to land one of the top qbs in next years draft and next year will be a very good year for qbs

Yeah, let's hope not for Jags sake

Has anyone check fournette when be was in high school? Dude was killing it. No one could stop him. It's like a full grown man going up against a bunch of JV kids lol. And then he brought that level of play in college up until he got hurt. Everyone knows injuries happen. But in history he only got hurt in college and he did very well in college. His game will translate into the NFL. He is one of those 1 every 10 yrs kind of running back. He's a freak of an athlete. He ran track, can catch pretty good. He has a good quick step agility for his size and weight. This was a great pick. I can see him getting 150-200 rushing yards in a game. He's that good.

No other way to break in fournette into the NFL by running over the Texans and their D! That will make a statement!

Do you feel the same level of enthusiasm as you did for T.J. Yeldon?

It seems to me that SEC backs under perform in the pros.  Eddie Lacy?  Mark Ingram? Todd Gurley?  What am I missing?  Derrick Henry, maybe.

Looking at recent drafts, Le'veon Bell and Ezekiel Elliot jump out at me, from Big 10 schools.

If I had to bet on one having a break out year right now, I would go with Christian McCaffrey.  Although I am far from bullish on him, the combination of him and fellow rookie Curtis Samuel is fascinating.

Gurley underperformed? He had 1100 yards in 13 games coming off an ACL his rookie year and then had a season where he didn't get to 1k because his team has a worse OL than ours with arguably the worst QB and WR situation in the league....

Well, profootballfocus agrees with you, but the Rams sure have spent a lot of draft capital on those positions in recent years.  One theory I have heard bandied around is that certain teams avoid SEC backs because of the number of carries they get, but that never seems to be the case with Alabama.  Does any back start for Alabama for more than two years?

Not even a fair comparison , fournette is the best running back prospect since AD and has been since 2014.

Drinking the teal koolaid I see.  Media and reality is two different things.  Fournette is not a better prospect then Gurley period.  That is beyond ridiculous Only reason drafted higher cause of his physical attributes. .

I remember no one being crazy about the yeldon pick. I didn't like it I know that.

But cone on man they're not even in the same class. I'm expecting Peterson type production from day one this guy's a onve in a generation type back. His ONLY concern is his health if he can stay healthy we have a star on our hands.

Derrick Henry in college:

619 plays from scrimmage for 3876 yards (6.3 avg) and 45 touchdowns.

Leonard Fournette in college:

657 plays from scrimmage for 4356 yards (6.6 avg) and 41 touchdowns.

Derrick Henry ran a 4.54 forty yard dash at the NFL Combine.  Leonard Fournette ran a 4.51 forty yard dash at the NFL Combine.

Derrick Henry is 6'3" and 247 lbs.  Leonard Fournette is 6'0" and 240 lbs.

Both played in the SEC.

What am I missing?
