Quote:Regarding the part in bold, absolutely. His playing days in the NFL are pretty much over. He is NOT a starting caliber QB and at best he's a viable backup for some team.Romo is every bit a starting caliber QB in this league. One of the best, when healthy. His only issue is staying healthy. I believe he'll somehow end up a Jaguar, he'll win the division, a playoff game, & may very well have you in the AFCCG. Jags vs Steelers, just like the good Ole days.

Well Romo is now retired. Texans are screwed at QB unless they draft one. They will probably still win the south because everyone else is still pretty bad. Tennessee might push for 1st as well.

Not sure why so many seem to be writing off Savage. They haven't really given him a chance yet, but has shown promise when they have lately.
I'm sure they'll address the position and bring in competition, but they may already have their guy.

Ironic that both Savage and Romo are so injury prone.
Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. No way I'd still be alive after all that choking.
If I'm the Texans, I stick with Savage, and probably draft someone like Watson - if he's available. Maybe that kid from A&M.

Now that Romo is out of the picture, I believe they start Savage and draft a guy like Mahomes in round 1.
I predict they will move up and Draft Watson round 1.

If their plan is to go with Savage and let Watson get acclimated, they may be tough this season.
If they roll out with Watson too soon, starting him this season, I expect a massive amount of folly. So much so it would probably get O'Brien fired.

Either way, seeing them in Week 1 as opposed to Week 8 or so, would seem to be in our favor.

Quote:Either way, seeing them in Week 1 as opposed to Week 8 or so, would seem to be in our favor. The only wildcard there is the QB decision. We'll only have the offseason to gauge the selection... which I don't expect them to make until the week prior to the opener. No NFL tape on Watson yet (not that I'm worried about a rookie who will probably throw his share of picks, just that it's still unknown how they'll use him.)

Quote:Watson at worst is Alex Smith imo.Alex Smith was pretty bad for his first 4 years. So we can only hope.
