Quote:Crazy how Dave picked Yeldon out of all the great backs. Horrible pick, makes me question if Dave knows what a good back is. Yeldon was never that good and far from a 2nd round pick in any draft
I'd say that I'd agree with this if we don't see anything from him this next year. We have to remember who our coaching staff is/was.
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

Quote:I think Yeldon is a good back, I like his game a lot. He has quick feet, is shifty, has good vision, catches the ball well etc... It wouldn't surprise me at all if Yeldon surprises people next year, he Jags need to rebuild the interior of it's offensive line with guys who can move defensive linemen all off the ball. Greg Cosell (well respected draft analyst) is a big fan of Yeldon is well

lol, Yeldon is slow, dances around way to much, and has no power. He is a good blocker, is a decent pass catcher, and has decent vision. I have seen a few times where he dances around and hits the wrong gap. Far from a good RB imo.

You dont need a "blazer" at RB, many of the leauges top backs aren't blazers. I want a guy that can make guy miss in the hole, can catch out of the backfield, and can pick up a blitz, Yeldon checks all those boxes. I'm willing to reserve judgement until the Jaguars can find some offensive linemen who can move guys off the ball.

As bad as our run blocking has been the past couple years, he has had a few plays with a hole he hit and he gets caught from behind in which should of been a huge gain or TD. I have seen him pick the wrong gaps on a few different times as well where he runs right into the defender instead of getting a nice gain

Quote:The only knock I have on Yeldon is he doesn't seem to have that extra breakaway gear even though his 40 was faster than Bell.
Bell doesnt have breakaway speed either, difference is Bell hits the hole while Yeldon dances

Bell has one of the best OLine in the league. Yeldon...not so much.

Yeldon essentially has become a 3rd down back. His best attribute is his pass protection.

He is a major bust as of right now.

His longest run of this entire season is something like 15 yards which is embarrassingly bad.

That long touchdown by Corey Grant would've been a 14 yard gain by Yeldon lol.

He just has 0 big play potential.

Ian Rapoport – Verified account ‏@RapSheet

Storyline to watch: The contract for #Raiders OL coach Mike Tice, the man behind 3 Pro Bowlers, is up. OAK’s priority will be to keep him.

A name to keep in mind. Could be of interest to Mike Smith.

Dumb fans blame the running back. Smart fans know it's not the running back. It's the offensive line.

It's both.

But if you get over 300 carries in your career so far - even with a bad offensive line, shouldn't a good RB "bounce" one, make a couple of guys miss, -and go for a 60 yard TD?

With Yeldon, you need the offensive line to block well 10 times in a row and Yeldon will get 6 yards a pop and then finally, a touchdown.

Worked with him for a couple years here and worked under him for one season in Atlanta.

He had a 45 yard rush and a 61 yard reception last year.

I'm giving most offensive players a slight pass for their stats this year
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

He would have had a 1,000 yard season running if he didn't get injured last year , behind a bad line too soo. He's solid.

Assuming the #Dolphins don't make a miraculous comeback, I'm told DC Vance Joseph is not planning to do any head coaching interviews on Mon.

Posted here as it's rumoured to be a Broncos candidate.

On a side note Dolphins defense looked horrible today.

You're idiot if you think its the oline only. Did the oline cause Ivory to fumble the ball every time too? Does the oline cause Yeldon to hit the wrong gaps when there is a hole? Does the oline cause Yeldon to hardly break any tackles? Does the oline cause Yeldon to get caught from behind?

Draft Cook, trade Yeldon problem solved.

Lol, two big plays in 2 years.

And that 61 yard reception should've been a touchdown but he literally ran out of juice
