Is this a cocaine joke?
If so, yay me for figuring it out.

Woohoo!!!

I wasn’t around here in the 80’s. Heck, I was barely even around in the 80’s the begin with.  Nice one nonetheless.

Blame it on a disorder or not.  Piece of trash.   Choking out a woman (literally half his size) and the “oh you’re alive?”  Wow.

That's the thing about mental illness; when he's on his meds and feeling relatively normal, I'm sure he would agree with you.

I’ll admit that I don’t fully understand or know “bipolar disorder”.  To me, it sounds like a guy that can sometimes control his emotions at times and not at others.  It very well can be ignorance on my part.  If I’m wrong, that’s a sad story for all involved.  Either way, I hope the woman recovers just fine.  Sounds like she’s very lucky to be alive.

Bipolar disorder (formerly known as manic depression) is pretty much the worst mental illness you can have because you can't control the swings between mania and depression and you're very much aware of how crappy it is, hence the need for meds. And they are very strong meds. I have a now former friend who is bipolar and it was quite an experience to learn about it by seeing it and being around it. As long as she stayed on her meds she was relatively normal, but if she was feeling great during a manic phase and decided she didn't need to take them anymore there are no words to describe the hell she would rain down on any and everyone who she felt was a threat. It doesn't help that she is a legit narcissist which makes her manic phases even worse. In her depressive phase she's suicidal and extremely paranoid. These people are very abusive physically and mentally to themselves and others when they are not on their meds. I've only ever truly been afraid of one person in my life and it was her.

Here is a site to explain more of what it is...... My former friend has Bipolar 1 disorder.

Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, concentration, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.

There are three types of bipolar disorder. All three types involve clear changes in mood, energy, and activity levels. These moods range from periods of extremely “up,” elated, irritable, or energized behavior (known as manic episodes) to very “down,” sad, indifferent, or hopeless periods (known as depressive episodes). Less severe manic periods are known as hypomanic episodes.

Understandable, but I can’t in good conscience give him a pass for deciding to not take his meds.

I don't blame you. It's hard to reconcile what I know about how BP disorder affects those who have it with how it makes them treat others. They can't control what it does to them. I used to think it was an overblown disease in how it has been portrayed in the media and in hollywood because they exaggerate everything, then I met my former friend and it is no joke.

I certainly don't feel sorry for the guy and I don't give him a pass either.

OK.  That was weird.  Took my truck to the Chevy dealership for regular service.  The guy checking me in says, "Wow, you don't see many Jaguars fans in this area."

Turns out the guy went to Bolles.  Worked at Blue Cross about the same timeframe that I did.  Was in line at The Avenues to get Jaguars season tickets the day they went on sales, as I was.  And he lived about two miles from me in Fruit Cove.

I was expecting Rod Serling to come around the corner of the building at any minute...

My first thought was, he went to Bolles and he's working at the counter at an auto dealer's service department?
