Good for him.

No. Dissolving Congress because they won’t confirm your political appointments is something that would have made Hitler proud.

He's not dissolving it and you know it. He's putting them out of session while they are out of session as is his Constitutional right. And then he'll appoint his people as has been his right for 3 and half years now.

The REAL question is why is the Senate, supposedly controlled by the President's party, locking him out of getting Obama appointees out of Washington and replaced with Republicans?

They should have removed Trump when they had the chance.  Getting pushed out of session is the recompense their cowardice deserves.

Actually, he cannot do it.  The Constitution gives the President the power to adjourn Congress if and only if they cannot agree on a date of adjournment.  This is Article II of the Constitution.  But they have agreed, and that date is January 3, 2021.

So it's not going to happen.

But congress isn't even in session...  Does that make sense to anyone?  There's such a rush to demonize the president that no one stops to think about the fundamental premise.

But how will Betty Lou and her 10 kids cover the tax?

Who saw this coming? Better question is, when will Walmart do it?

Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't.  But the spirit of the constitution is that the senate participates in the government's decision making process by consenting to the cabinet and other officials.  the president can only bypass them with "recess appointments" temporarily.  but if the senate is not actually using their time to participate, then it is the senate, and not the president, violating the constitution's spirit.
You have to look at the spirit of it as well as its literal word-for-word meaning.  If you don't the word-for-word meaning will fold in on itself and it becomes a suicide pact.

The American middle class, white collar folks, have mostly figured out how to work from home.
SNL even figured out how to create a show from home.
So the physical presence of Senators in Washington *should* be a red herring to this conversation.
But these 100 losers we call senators, who weren't using their time and power effectively before, can't figure out videoconferencing like us normal folks.

Whenever I get mine, since I paid this year and somehow they didn't have my direct deposit info, I'm going to Cabela's to add to my personal arsenal. The left have gone completely off the deep end, and if a disaster like this can't convince them to come together, nothing will. A purge/reckoning will be coming if the left continues down this path.

I'm in the same situation though mine will go right back in the form of taxes.

This person got a slightly larger stimulus check than the rest of us. Apparently it actually was a stimulus error. This withdrawal receipt is from the WAWA nearest my house, and the place I usually fuel up (and sometimes use their ATM). Unfortunately it didn't happen to me.

I'd cash that [BLEEP] and hand out Benjamins like candy to the local businesses here that got screwed by the Republocrats total mishandling of the stimulus funds. Come at me, Republocrats. Go ahead and try to file criminal charges against a guy who fixed your wrongs.

I saw someone else had the same thing happen, but it was gone from his account by morning. It depends on the circumstances, but generally you have to give the money back when there are errors involved.
