Don't look back look forward.  One fluke season.  That almost same D didn't fare too well once Darius went out.  You could argue he was more important.  We hopefully have a somewhat decent replacement in the Ohio st kid.  We shall see.  

It's like I used to say when going out to bars clubs in my 20s.  I have a pocketful of potential.

Although I doubt that is true, I also doubt Caldwell will pay him what he wants. That being said, a deal for Adams makes sense. He is the best safety in the league, young, and a playmaker on defense. He would also cost less than Yannick (say $3 million per season). The need is definitely there as safety is a weakness on the Jags defense. 

Skeptics will say $17 million is way too much to pay a safety. No doubt that is very true, but everyone is overpaid in the NFL. The Jags have cleared a tremendous amount of money from their salary cap and can afford it. 

The bigger questions are whether Adams would agree to come to the Jags and whether the Jets would pay Yannick what he wants. Most likely, the answer to each of these questions is a resounding "no," but I'd still try to make this deal.

This is a great point ?. This would allow both guys to get a change of scenery without losing significant amounts of talent (On paper at least).

Eifert - has a lot of trouble staying healthy
Chris Thompson - didn't score once last year and is nothing special
Ngkogue - don't know him
Bryan has been average at best
Williams as in Quincy Williams? the guy who got benched? hopefully he will improve but it doesn't even look like he is going to start

What's interesting to me is people are making this assumption that Gardner Minshew is going to take the next step when last year could have been the best version of him he was as a NFL quarterback.

I appreciate your optimism.  It's always better to be an optimist than a pessimist.  

But, the problem I see is that we have so many rookies, and a brand new offense and offensive coordinator, and we won't have much practice time.

I appreciate your optimism.  It's always better to be an optimist than a pessimist.  

But, the problem I see is that we have so many rookies, and a brand new offense and offensive coordinator, and we won't have much practice time.

My expectations are low but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to see it play out.

Let's not forget about Robert Griffin sophomore season and Sam Bradford sophomore season wasn't his greatest either. I'm just saying that it's not a guaranteed that Gardner Minshew will improve because a lot of things have to be in place for him to be at his best.
