AFC  coach of the year

Good Stuff

He earned it.

Quote:JACKSONVILLE – Doug Pederson is Coach of the Year.

Pederson, who in his first season as the Jaguars' head coach led the team to an AFC South title and an appearance in an AFC Divisional Playoff, on Tuesday was announced as the AFC Coach of the Year for 2022 by the 101 Awards.
The Jaguars, after finishing with the NFL's worst record in 2020 and 2021, finished the regular season 9-8. They won their last five regular-season games, then beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30 in an AFC Wild Card Playoff game at TIAA Bank Field.

Not surprising at all. Doug has kicked [BLEEP] since day one when he got in here. No reason to doubt he won't continue what he's already built on from 2022.

Congratulations to Doug. Been exactly what this franchise has needed from the moment he stepped through the door. Not only has he undone all the damage from last season, he's got us further down the right path than any of us could have thought possible.

He spoke often at the start of his time about earning the players trust and believing he can help them, I can only imagine what the hell he actually walked into in that dressing room. From #1 pick to take them to the divisional round of the playoffs is insane.

He built a great coaching team to help him too and it's great to see players actually improving, something I've been going on about for years.

Great news and well deserved!

How is Shanhan not NFC coach of the year after going 7-0 with a 3rd string QB? The Eagles Divisional blowout blew the shine right off of Daboll.

Did they vote before divisional Saturday? Because after the beat down the eagles put on the lil’ G-men there’s no way Pederson shouldn’t take the full CoTY award

Daboll could've been more encouraging about Daniel Jones returning. Sure, he didn't play great in the playoff game, but I believe the Giants were lucky to be there with that roster. Even if behind closed doors Daboll doesn't think highly of Daniel Jones, he shouldn't imply that publicly. Until you've got the guy on your roster, you've got to pretend like the current guy -- provided he's clearly not a stopgap -- is the guy.

To me, he's a poor man's Josh Allen. Or somewhere between Carson Wentz and Josh Allen. Next season will determine which one he's trending closer to. I can confidently say, however, that they're not drafting high enough in this weak QB draft to find any prospects better than Jones in the short term.

resigning Jones will be the worst mistake the Giants can make

The choice was so obvious back when Doug was hired. Who turns down an experienced HC coach who:

1) Won the SB beating Brady/Belicheck with a backup QB
2) Won the regular season with Carson Wentz

I guess if any team would have done it, it would have been us. The Meyer debaucle must have jolted some sense into Khan.

So excited for next year. I think another year of consistency and player development will improve this team even further.
