People who wait till the last second to merge when it's bumper to bumper traffic and you've been sitting in front of a merge left lane for 45 min.

Why do people drive with their emergency flashers on when there is seemingly no reason for them to be on?  While driving on 295 tonight I encountered a guy driving 70 in the left lane with his flashers going.  I've always wanted the opportunity to ask one of these dill weeds why they do it.

Quote:People who use the word "cutups" in their posts instead of the word "highlights."
You know a cut up shows all plays by a player from a particular game, while a highlight shows only the "good" plays, right?

Pretty significant difference.

It's such a pleasure getting on I295 at San Jose every morning at 7:15, to go to work.  It's a thrill a minute...if not second.

I will say though, if you aren't wide awake by the time you get to the I95 interchange there's something wrong with you.  Plenty of rapid lane changes and stunt driving.  I much prefer when school is out so I can go down Loretto to Greenland.

I used to drive this route at that time from Julington Creek and it is crazy.  Once 60% of the cars veer off to I-95 it's NASCAR for most drivers in the left lane until it ends just past Phillips.  Then you get to the 9b merge and everyone is shooting in the left lane at the last second until it ends.  Ready for a beer once I get to work.

How is traffic in general in Jacksonville?

Not bad. There's the rush hours typical of any large city, but overall it moves well. Our biggest problem is the near absolute ignorance of what the stalk poking out of the left side of the steering column is used for.

As for me, I drive a sedate 3 miles to work through two traffic lights. My vehicle barely has time to get up to operating temperature before I arrive. *yawnnn, scratch, scratch*

The area I was complaining about is congested anyway.  But there is also construction going on for about a 6 miles stretch so it enhances the experience greatly.

Really it's not all that bad, comparatively, to me as I lived near Philly until I was 39.

On a side note:  I 'll be out in Alameda in two weeks.

Senor- Jacksonville Airport has a cell phone lot too. It's actually quite nice, even has a bathroom. I keep a folding chair and table in the car and basically tailgate while waiting for someone- a sub and a beer while sitting in the shade takes the tension away.

TIP- I don't pick anyone up downstairs anymore, I have them hike up the escalator and come out on top at the "Departures" ramp. Usually they have just a rollerbag and a carryon. Nobody objects- son, friends, etc.

Yeah, I typically drive myself to the airport but I have picked people up before and I never really found it that difficult. Wait in the lot, get the call and roll over. Pretty easy, but Fresno Yosemite in general is a really easy airport to fly through. Show up and hour before your flight and you're good. Certainly much better than DFW, McCarran or SeaTac. Ughhhhh.

I don't handle traffic very well. I wouldn't even attempt to drive in a place like Philly. I also avoid LA at all costs.

When I head to SF I like to drive to Fremont, ditch the car and get on the BART as soon as possible. If I had my way I'd Amtrak the whole thing actually, but certain parties are against that for some reason.

JAX is very nice. Concourses have plenty of space, lots of light. The seating at the gates have outlets in them and last time I was there the Wifi was free. It is a long ways away from the rest of Jacksonville but so is everything else in Jacksonville.

Hell, that's a problem anywhere. If I didn't know better, I'd believe indicators are optional equipment on most vehicles. Not many people want to upgrade to the safe package, apparently.
