The thing that makes me laugh is that the UK, on the whole, is not set up for any 'extreme' kinds of weather - Whether it's snow, torrential rain, a heatwave or strong winds... the country will grind to a halt!

I'm sure that looks really hot from the comfort of your air conditioned homes, cars, stores and offices. Meanwhile it's 27.5 degrees in my non air conditioned apartment and the only reason I'm not dead is because I have a desk fan running 24/7.

I grew up and also lived in the Philippines for 4 years without air conditioning. I feel ya.

Yep, a/c was a luxury when I was growing up.  Hell, until I moved here in 1991 the most I had was an occasional window unit.
