Who actually says that? I think it's assumed that when anyone kills anyone else that there is some sort of mental illness. But this idea that people excuse white killers as having illnesses is stupid and generally incorrect.

People willing to kill for their ideology arent mentally ill, thats been the normal state of humanity for most of history. The idea that we dont have to constantly be on guard against human nature is what's wrong with the "kumbaya" politics of both the left and right, everyone doesnt share the same views on what is and isnt evil, especially when it comes to exherting control over each other. We live in a brief window of unusual circumstance where entire countries are experiencing freedom, and if we aren't careful to protect it then it will be lost to the forces of chaos or authoritarianism.
