Roethlisberger may have gotten hurt a couple games yes but he's also big and tough enough to play through a lot of injuries.


Russell Wilson is just in his second season. He hasnt taken a lot of hits yet. He also isnt asked to do much for them to win their games. Lynch and their defense is the heart of that team.

 

Big Ben has gone through some two-year stretches when he seemed to almost always be hurt. It was one injury after another in a short time frame.

 

Peyton Manning almost always stayed healthy in Indianapolis because he ran a fast-paced, shotgun-heavy offense behind Pro Bowl linemen. In Denver with not-so-good linemen and a slower scheme, he played through a high ankle sprain that forced him to miss Wednesday practices for weeks. So it is not just his size, but also the type of offense he was in and how good his linemen were. The Patriots have also had a very good offensive line throughout Tom Brady's career.

 

You know who has suffered fewer injuries than Peyton, Tom, and Aaron? Drew Brees, who is "only" 6-1 and was drafted in 2001.

In other words, it is not the quarterback's size, but his playing style, that increases injury risk. If Manziel runs out of bounds and slides to avoid contact, he will be OK. The problem is TAMU's quarterback coach never taught him how important that is in the NFL.
