The only positive on offense was Fournette. He looks as good as advertised and should provide a lot of excitement for Jaguar fans. The 2 big concerns going into training camp, quarterback and offensive line, were even worse than I could have imagined. The defensive line constantly put pressure on the quarterbacks. Bortles' judgement was no better than last year. He could have even thrown a couple more interceptions, but a couple passes were dropped by defenders. Neither backup quarterback seems ready or able to start for an NFL team. I just can't understand why the Jaguars didn't either draft a q.b. in the top 3 rounds or pick up a free agent like Koeppernick. The same goes for the offensive line. Cam Robinson may eventually become a very solid left tackle, but he is not ready. Albert had an up and down practice- nothing great and none of the guards looked good. Caldwell should have taken Lamp in round 2 as he will be a solid starter for the Chargers beginning week 1.

I left tonight's practice feeling very disappointed about the upcoming season. Despite having a potentially top 5 defense, this team will continue to lose winnable games due to stupid turnovers and finish the season with between 6 and 8 wins. Normally, an improvement of anywhere from 3-5 more wins would be a positive but the schedule is weak. The defense will be mostly responsible for the victories, but by winning more games they will lose out on the top 2-3 quarterbacks in a very strong q.b. draft class. Hopefully this prediction will be wrong since our loyal fans deserve a winning team now.
