EXCELLENT POINT !!    ..... but I do give credit to Obama for giving the banks & auto industries $$ incentives to keep them afloat (and many if not all did pay back their gov incentives so they could issue internal bonus' and such)

Your picture of the market isn't very accurate.  It's pretty unfair to depict the market from (I assume) late 2007-2008 and show the market from what appears to be late 2008 up through 2010.

Lets take a bigger picture view.

This chart is a weekly view of the DOW and looks back 19 years.  You see a dip right around  January of 2001 which was part of the "dot-com bubble" bursting.  The market did fall and contrary to popular belief, it didn't fall much because of the 9/11 attack.  As of matter of fact the market stayed fairly flat for a couple of months then started climbing back.

Somewhere around October or November of 2003 the market recovered from the "dot-com bubble".  During this time frame however, it was a time where people were encouraged to take loans for mortgages (actually that started earlier).  Credit was "easy and cheap".

At the end of 2007 you see a hesitation in the market because some people saw it coming.  Around that time "big banks" were failing.  The bubble burst in September of 2008.  The market took a huge plunge and reset.

It wasn't so much Presidential policy that caused it and it wasn't Presidential policy that enabled the recovery (for the most part).

What I'm saying is, you can't blame the Bush administration for the failure in 2008, you can't give credit to the Obama administration for the eventual recovery and you can't give the current administration credit for what the market is doing today.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.
