Coughlin doesn't have a clue what he's doing. He should really consider tapping this message board for expert personnel moves.

There are dozens of potential all pro offensive lineman just sitting out there on the wire waiting for a phone call, either former NFL players, or from the Canadian, Arena, or European club leagues that they should be scouring to bring in to save this season.

The drama queen is strong on this board. Let's see how things play out over the next several weeks. If the team is still struggling to find the right combination as preseason progresses, other teams are going to be releasing guys to pare their rosters down. There will more than likely be some talent that hits the wire as they get down to their opening day rosters that this team could benefit from snagging. Or, they might just have the right guys on the roster already despite all of the experts here who have done their evaluation and have deemed them sub-par. God forbid we let the guys getting paid to make these decisions do their job. If an upgrade to the OL can be had at this point, the team would have pulled the trigger. Clearly, they haven't seen anyone out there that fits the bill for what they feel are the biggest needs, and I would have to say that if anyone knows how to build an offensive line, it's TC.

As far as signing a running back with a roster opening, it's about reps, and keeping balance during these pretty intense practices. You've lost a running back to a neck injury, so you need to have a body on the roster to fill that role. The odds of Gaffney actually making this team on opening day are about as good as some of the armchair GMs in this thread being given the ability to call the shots for a day at EverBank. Barring a rash of injuries that make him a necessity, he's just visiting.
