You don't know he would have blown out his knee here. Maybe it was the type of drill he was doing, maybe it was a particular hit he took in practice. Nobody knows. Maybe he would have gotten injured if we took him, but maybe he wouldn't.

Too bad for Lamp. However, maybe this is a sign that luck is turning the Jaguars' way. After all the bad luck (and bad decisions) made during the past 10 years or so, it's time for things to turn around. Let's hope Albert retiring was the bottom and now the team will be on on a long upwards cycle. By the way, we may even look at his sudden departure as a long-term plus if it enables them to re-sign Telvin Smith.

1. Cam starts out pretty solid and eventually becomes a pro-bowl left tackle.
2. Fournette is the real deal and puts together several 1,200 + yard seasons in addition to becoming a threat catching passes.
3. Fowler becomes the player the team thought they drafted 3 years ago.
4. Bortles limits his mistakes and does enough to not cause the team to lose games. Sorry, that's the best I can expect from him.

If these things happen, there is no reason why this team cannot become a winner again starting this season. The defense is just too talented and young (other than Poz) to expect otherwise.

For those skeptics (I can't blame them considering our futile record the past 10 years), let's not forget this is still a very young team that was the most successful new franchise ever by making it to 2 championship games in it's first 5 seasons. Yes, it's been a long time but I expect the loyal fans to be rewarded for hanging in there beginning this season.
