You act like Bortles has been bad for several years. I've never seen a guy get so much hate after one subpar year.

We live in the microwave generation where fans only care about what happened most recently.  They ignore the fact that the guy set franchise records 2 years ago, and even last season, the pick six marathon also netted him another season where he beat the previous team record for TD passes thrown by a QB in a season, so he holds the top two spots in that category.  

Most people can't think beyond the last few minutes, so the most recent memory they have of Bortles is a guy who was just snake bitten last year, trying to do too much for an inept coaching staff.  What we have in Bortles will be fully realized this year, and if he continues to struggle despite the off season efforts to build the team around him so that he can be successful, he won't be here next season.  Simple as that.  It takes far less energy to be a bunch of Debbie Downers blasting the guy for every mistake than it does to recognize the potential and hope for the best this season.
