It will be interesting to see what plan we got with next year if we draft a QB in the first. Ideally you don't want to be forced into starting them year 1 and should have a caretaker QB ready to play , but at the same time they should be given every opportunity to win the job. If they have a baseline NFL skillset necessary to survive and you have a decent line to cover them then throw them out there, especially if they're better than you have.

If we're planning on drafting year you need a backup plan to start in their place in case development is slow at the beginning, just like Watson.
