My other question is...assuming we win 5-6 games this season and screw up our draft position.  How much do we throw at moving up in the draft to get a franchise QB (if we are picking around 10)?  We've been a decade without making the playoffs and arguably haven't had a franchise QB since Brunell (Garrard was a great game manager but couldn't put the team on his back alone).

I think Coughlin should consider using whatever draft picks/equity necessary to get a franchise QB, no matter the cost.  Because the alternative is another 3-5 years of losing football.

That's why I'd like to accumulate draft picks. In case we need to move up in the draft to get "our guy", I want to have all the ammunition we can. If we want to get to the next level, we cannot be without a good QB. We have to do whatever it takes to get the right QB in here and given the price of trading up in the last few drafts, that can be steep. I hate trading up, but when you need a franchise QB, you do what you gotta do.
