I tried explaining Allen's deficiencies months ago and was attacked so it feels good to have some ocular proof in a sense, but I still like him as a player to develop into a solid career back-up - he is still PS eligible and I don't think a team would put in a waiver claim for him.

The Westbrook TD was perfect, it's a shame he doesn't have the arm strength to do things like that more consistently where he hits a WR in time. Then the 2nd Pick to Grace was so bad, he really struggled to drive the ball on a rushed throw. That's one of the benefits to top end arm strength and the final pick was truly a phenomenal play by the DE but that's another throw that an experienced Vet can adjust to by keeping the ball high and not within a DE's arm span. NFL DE's look for sidearm throws like that and he got exposed.

Allen doesn't have the elite arm strength to put the ball where he want's, he can create a distance but he doesn't have the strength to force velocity and manipulate the curve of the ball. I still think he can carve a defense when he wants. He's been playing QB forever and has all the best prep-school training, etc. I still might rather see him Start over Blake or Chad if he was further along, but he's still not better than Blake/Chad yet. The gap is too big despite how bad this group has been.
