If this staff benches a player because he will cost money IF he gets injured they need to hand in their contracts, go home and stay there. They have no business in football with that kind of thinking.

It's just the prudent thing to do if/when we fall out of contention. It would show a serious lack of judgement if you don't bench him and risk torpedoing next year before this one is even over because there is exactly zero reason to risk it and 19 million reasons not to risk it.
