Quote:The above should make for some very good excuses, if / when your optimism doesn't pan out. As much as you don't think it matters, division environment does matter. Thats why teams like the Cardinals never really were able to successfully rebuild when in the former NFC East with the Cowboys, Redskins, Giants and lesser extent Eagles. It makes it too hard for teams like that to get over the hump. I'll bet a lot of Cardinal fans at that time had a similar naive mindset as you have above. You're the one that speaks of coaches and player acquisition, yet I'm naive? It appears from how you have evaluated EVERY other team versus how you evaluate the new Jaguars that I'm not optimistic but realistic. While from reading your analysis, it appears that you just cannot see anything positive with the new regime while you continuously prop up other teams in our own division and around the league as doing the right things. I've been very critical of Fische as anyone, matter of fact I still don't think I'm actually spelling his name right now. It's just fascinating to read posts that are looking to fire the OC, and thus "rebuild" the offensive philosophy, AFTER THE FIRST YEAR of a rebuild. I'm not naive, but I have seen progression, no matter the caliber of competition. It's a matter of time to determine where we stand within the division. But to consider the c'lots and t'horns as the darlings with ignoring glaring misteps by both organizations is what I consider the MOST naive. You act as though we have to content with franchises of the same caliber as the Patriots. We don't. All the franchises in our division are highly flawed in my opinion. Mcnair, Adams, and Irsay remind me more of Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder than they do of the Krafts... This allows a window for Khan to stay the course, be consistent, maintain a level head and build the dominant team we are all hoping for. |
