Weaver flat out knocked one out of the park with the Tom Coughlin hire; it was a terrific choice and Weaver was good with many of his early decisions to get the franchise going....but as time went on, made a lot of bad decisions and the franchise suffered. He overreacted with the philosophy change in management structure after Coughlin with the "committee approach" that never works. Too many Inidans & not enough Chiefs culminates from that approach. Accountability is camoflouged and too much of the blame game ensues. IMO, all that needed to happen was to remove Coughlin from the GM spot and get a sseparate GM. Coughlin's "coaching" was not the issue and firing a coach when his "coaching" is not the reason the team was losing just wasn't a smart idea. The 2009 uniform change was just another in what became a series of bad decisions. 

 

Yeah, well that was then.  Ya know?  How's the Julius Caesar soliloquy go?  I don't come to praise Weaver/Coughlin but to bury him?  Coughlin is gone and I don't care to bring him back.  Weaver's greatness was figuring a way to bring Jacksonville a team.  I never would have become a fan of the Jaguars without having my mom and step dad move there and get me involved with the Jaguars.  I should be a Denver Bronco fan, but I loved the city and the team was great the 1 year I lived there and had season tickets.  So I got hooked.

 

Either way, this team now has a new owner.  I think the new mentality will surpass what we've been accustomed to.  It's just a matter of letting it play out.  Again, you can critique the finer points all you want.  The thing that annoys me about your nit-picking is that you are acting as though this is the same Franchise that Weaver possessed.  The fact is that it's NOT.  Give it time to marinate before you go all doom and gloom--Again.   :thumbsup:
