Think about Jalen Ramsey. He is a Jordan Brand athlete. Fournette is about to be a global star after a few years. This is why players are starting to want to come here. We have something no other NFL team currently has, major global visibility. Their agents know it and we are slowly seeing the benefit of it.

The main reason is so NFL can test/create market demand for the product before the directv contract runs out. When the contract ends in 2020something they will do what every sporting league in this country has already done, and sell their product directly to the consumer.  Like you said the old television model is dying, younger people (though people in general) do not watch traditional television.

My TV is much bigger than my phone. When given the choice I will always choose the bigger screen to view shows. I might view a youtube video every now and then on my phone, but that is it. Phones are designed to make calls, TVs are designed to view programs. Until they implant the phone in your eye so it appears bigger than my TV screen I will use the TV for watching tv shows and movies.

I wouldn't want to watch NFL games on my phone either. But I use the TV as a computer monitor. Any streaming video is displayed with the same resolution and size as it is with network TV.
