Dave Caldwell deserves credit if team plays continues to play well

Bortles is still a big question mark. And right now, if he continues to play well, I think that credit would go to Marrone/Hack for using him in a much more managerial role instead of letting him sling it around.

However... It can not be ignored that (disregarding J. Ram, an easy selection and LF a sure fire Coughlin selection) DFJ is playing well, Jack is looking beastly, Smith and Colvin are really good, and signing Bouye, Campbell, Church, Jackson were all home runs after kinda selecting stop gap players early on.
I almost forgot to mention Yannick a budding star.
I've always said overall he's done a fairly good job.
But 3 misses in Luke, Blake, and Bradley have hung a dark cloud over his tenure.
If Bortles can be serviceable beyond this season, his job is probably safe... but I think he is tied to Bortles directly so if Bortles goes, Caldwell does too, imo.

It's unfortunate.... but sometimes franchises move on from GMs who have seemingly done well when they don't see eye to eye with certain people in power. (i.e. Dorsey/Reid from KC)

I'm getting so tired of seeing this stupid excuse. "You can't count Ramsey because that was an easy pick". My [BLEEP] you can't count Ramsey. Dave made the pick, if he didn't pick Ramsey he would be getting straight up ripped because of it.  But since we all see he's a straight up stud, the pick doesn't count because it was an easy pick? Get out of here with that crap.

But ok, if you don't count the Ramsey pick, then you sure as hell can't count the Joeckel pick either. Joeckel was the top pick in that draft, for the entire season. Then Fisher started to raise and they were either one, or two. Chiefs took Fisher and Dave went with the consensus #1 pick, who was Joeckel.

Bortles would have went top 5 or top 10 also, even if we didn't draft him.

And this "sure fire Coughlin pick" is flat out some of the stupidest [BLEEP] I've ever heard. You guys need to really stop saying what was, or wasn't a Coughlin pick. First off, because you don't have a single clue about it, as none of us do. Second, because they're all working together and to think otherwise is foolish at best.
