I know this is tongue in cheek, but its pretty much correct.

... perfect opportunity8 to get the hell out of Jax

And as a side bonus the Jags all stood for the British anthem, so there's no problem there.

I have thought this as well.

Those protesting will eventually decide they can't live without football, especially when they hear people talk about exciting games that they missed. The real question is, what is gonna happen in other leagues like the NBA? I wonder if any of those players will start taking knees or sitting out the national anthe m? If that happens, what fall/winter sports will be left for the anti-NFL protesters to watch? Is pro bowling still shown on one of the ESPN channels?

Hockey has been growing every year. And it was already getting people who were fed up with Goodell softening the league, thats where they will do. I do not believe it will blow over. This has been building up for a while now as the Nfl gets more and more PC. The anthem stand is clearly just the NFL hitting the iceberg.

They have choosen, as have many sports like the NBA to push a 'progressive' agenda and then stomp on anything thats not for years. Tebow kneels? Fined him. Linebacker from bears (Briggs?) wears stars and strips cleats to honor fallen on 9-11? Fine him. Cowboys try to wear sticker honoring police? Disapproved. Kap takes a knee disobeying NFLs anthem policy (see post above if you don't know it)? Crickets. Tavon Austin and the Rams do whatever they did for 'hands up don't shoot'? Nothing but support. Players kneel for anthem in large segments? Issue a statement on 'freedom of speech.' Same player do an endzone dance they don't like? Fine him.

NFL doesnt give two craps about freedom of speech or anything else besides money, but they are starting to repel a large portion of their fanbase, and they are annoying a majority of those who are left. The anthem protest may go away, I personally don't think its over, the people doing it seem to enjoy getting a rise out of others, and want to continue to show thier rebellion to their loyal constituents. But the NFL has shown it will come down on the progressive side again when it comes to the next 'big protest.' The seed is already planted, they have to reap that crop.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster
