And this is exactly my point. 

 

The Gators had a good defense to be sure, but it wasn't exactly Alabama's, and neither was "NFL caliber".  That Florida team had a few players that went to the NFL, but by-and-large, the team wasn't good enough to beat Louisville.  And then Bridgewater had a great game.

 

So then Bridgewater came into the first few games of 2013, with, what at least one poster posited, an "Aikman, Manning, and Luck" grade.  Before Louisville played a single ranked opponent, a good portion of us entertained the thought that Jax would be best served to lose every game just to assure we'd get him.  I mean, where the hell did that come from if not his Sugar Bowl performance?  Beating Florida International?  The only quality win they had was against Central Florida.

 

Oh yeah, they lost that game.  Whoops.

 

In order to even participate in this thread, I had to buy the OP's point that Bridgewater is overrated by this board.  Some of us don't buy that, and think he deserves his rank.  I can respect that, but I will wait for the combine before calling him a slam dunk.  I honestly think his upside is Sam Bradford, who also seems to have been overrated, and I don't know if that's what I want for our team.  I guess it would be better than what we have now, but maybe we can do better still.
