NFL.com - Leonard Fournette still waiting on his breakout run

I realize the oline hasnt been blocking fantastically and teams are gameplanning to stop him, but I have been slightly underwhelmed. Admittedly I had really high expectation. I was hoping for a generational type player like Adrian Peterson(whose rookie season with Vikings had Tarvaris Jackson, Brooks Bollinger, and Kelly Holcombe as his starting QBs). But Fournette doesnt seem to be at that level. He seems like the kind of guy that needs a hole to run through. But doesnt necessarily create his own. Often times he just runs up the middle where the play was designed to go when it looks like if he had bounced it out, there was an opening. But I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Was what was said of him at LSU as well. That's why he wasnt overly effective against a team like Bama.

His strengths seem to be when he has a hole to run through, he has the power and speed that most other RBs dont have. And could produce big chunk plays. But until our line blocks a lot better and we get a threat of a passing game, seems like he is going to be botttled up and relatively ineffective.

*And to add one more thing, I get the impression he is the type of guy that takes a good team and makes them great. But I'm not sure he takes a lousy team and makes them good. Like the way Adrian Peterson did for the Vikings while never playing with a good QB there other than an over the hill Favre. Obviously AP is a really high bar. But anytime you draft a RB top 5, I have to think you are hoping you are getting a generational player like that. And while it's only 4 games, I'm not getting that feeling from Fournette yet. But it's still early of course.
