Tom Savage may have taken a few reps with the starters, but I'll bet their game plan has to be adjusted. Consider this. If the Jaguars' game plan was designed with a few QB runs for Blake Bortles and the same thing happened, would Chad Henne be able to execute those plays the same? With virtually no practice time? IIRC Friday is usually a limited practice to "fine tune" the game plan for most teams and Saturday is a "walk through". This puts the game squarely on the back of the Texans' defense since Tom Savage has not "rehearsed" the play selection that goes with the game plan. I don't know what the symbols are for, but we all know Deshaun Watson is much better than Tom Savage. Bill O'Brien will scale back the playbook. If Savage can't run a play, he won't call it. |
