It was a long time ago. But I recall from my youth the Bengals winning the AFC Central Title with an 8-6 record after a 1-6 start.

the 92 Chargers started 0-4 and ended up 11-5.
the 95 Lions started 0-3, stumbled to 3-6, and finished 10-6.
the 98 Bills also started 0-3, though they got it together mid season and finished 10-6.

Not to mention...

the 2010 Seahawks... who went to the postseason with a losing record.
