Actually most of Mariota's best work comes from inside the pocket. He's a pocket passer who can scramble more so than the other way around. Very athletic on the move but his game isn't anywhere near dependent on being outside the pocket.  

While he is having a bad year independent of outside factors you can't just ignore the coaching and scheme he's in. Its an offense with talent but bad design all round. They can't scheme his receivers open. The run game is failing this year. Mularkey is showing why he's , well, Mike Mularkey.

He obviously does not know what his talking about as explained. Mariota with a gimpy leg stood tall in the pockett and racked the Colts last game, granted it was the Clots, but he has shown enough potenial that if you cater to his strength he could def be a franchise QB, he cab make all the passes as a QB. Its hard to fine aby rhythym in an offense built by two old stubborn coaches. You got OC Terry robiskie that hasn’t been an offensive coordinator since his 00 Redskins days, and you got the lead guy in mulsucky that has shown his offense only works for a year max. Go ask the the 2011 Falcons and look at what they were saying about Mulsucky
