I'd Take Case Keenum (merged)

It's a mistake to fork over huge amounts of money to these signal callers. Look at Chicago with Glennon this off-season. It's just not worth it. I'd rather go after a 10+ year veteran that's been with the same team forever like a Rivers, Brees or Manning over Keenum. And then you draft a successor to groom for a year or two. To me that's typically been the best method.

I agree, I think that Keenum has deviated far from the mean with his play this year, but he has also been on a better team than he has ever had before. He did look decent backing up the Texans like 5 years ago when they were a playoff squad and Schwab went down, but I still think he will come back down to earth next season.

If I was a QB needy team and he was willing to take 12-16 million per, I might take a shot at that point. But when you get into real franchise QB money (20 mm +) I don't think you pay that to guys with less of a resume than say Cousins.

On the other hand I think this might be a great time to pick up on Teddy Bridgewater. He would be a decent fit with a team like the Jags cause he is highly accurate (always has been) and isn't going to turn the ball over alot. Blake was never made to be a game manager and he doesn't fit in that role IMO (but he isn't good enough to win consistently as a gun slinger either). Teddy was made to be an excellent game manager. So if he would take a simular contract to what I mentioned above I would do it for him also.

Bradford is worth less to me due to injury history. He has just has too many season ending injuries. I am sure he will play well when he is well, but that just isn't happening enough for me to make him a long term offer at this point with his age.

Great post, bang on. I think the Vikings like Bradford, I think he'd probably be their starter with all 3 healthy. But I agree, I don't think he has another superstar value to get a big money deal with his injury record. He had some good games with the Rams, just always got awful injuries.

Keenum started last season pretty well with the Rams but they had Fisher as HC, no WR's and Goff over his shoulder. He started forcing plays and getting picked but he's looked so good for the Vikings this season. I think he needs a good D and talent around him but as you say, we seem to be more in need of a game manager QB and for the right price, I could get on board.

Bridgewater would be a nice pick up. I do like him and felt he got a lot of unfair criticism. He is very accurate and can place the ball well.

It's going to be a tough decision for Minnesotta and plenty of teams will be looking at them this off season. The one good thing is this does look like one of the better years to go QB shopping but we need to pick well and thankfully we have Coughlin.
