I'd Take Case Keenum (merged)

I fully expect the Vikings to re-sign him anyway and possibly Bridgewater as well. Bradford will be the odd man out.

I get where you are coming from, but I would urge you to consider just what castoffs have been able to do over the years.

Peyton Manning, a Colts castoff, helped guide the Broncos to two Super Bowl appearances, though admittedly, he was finished by their last one and the defense played more of a role than he did.

Drew Brees, a castoff from the Chargers, won a Super Bowl with the Saints.  The year before, Kurt Warner, a cast off from the Rams and Giants, took the Cardinals to their first ever Super Bowl appearance.  BTW, Kurt Warner was also a castoff when he won the Super Bowl with the Rams after the 1999 season.

The Seahawks reached the Super Bowl for the first time with castoff Matt Hasselbeck (GB) at QB.

In 2002, the Bucs, admittedly a defensive team, won their first Super Bowl with QB castoff Brad Johnson at the helm.  They beat the Raiders, who made their first Super Bowl appearance since 1983, with QB castoff Rich Gannon, who won league MVP that year.

Trent Dilfer, a castoff from the Bucs, took another defense dominant team in the Ravens, to a Super Bowl win in 2000.

Brett Favre, a castoff from the Falcons, took the Green Bay Packers to back to back Super Bowls in 1996-1997 after being traded from the Falcons.

Steve Young was dealt from the Bucs, but that did not stop him from winning a Super Bowl in 1994 with the 49ers.

Sometimes, like Dareus, a guy needs to be in the right situation at the right time.  That applies to QBs.  I think with this strong defensive team who should be together at least another year or so, needs a veteran QB who won't make mistakes and can make the occasional big play to win some games.  That wouldn't necessarily preclude us from drafting a QB.  But as great as our defense is, it still needs help from the offense.  As effective as our running game can be, it still needs a competent passing game to take the pressure off of it.  We're not likely to get that from a rookie QB, even if we ultimately hit on that pick.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
