A major benefit for the Browns keeping Hue as HC is the Browns will maintain continuity with the systems in place and coaching style.  If John Dorsey and Hue aren't on the same page though in some key ways, it probably would be better if the Browns went in another coaching direction yet again.

That is probably better for the Browns long-term. Their struggles can be traced back to front offices and coaches not being on the same page, and considering how much of their recent history involves front offices inheriting coaches (or vice versa), dumping Hue almost makes sense. There's just not much chance of them finding anyone better. If the Browns do fire Hue, they're going to get stuck with another mid-tier coordinator who's in over his head (Mike Pettine, Rod Chudzinski) or a retread who no one can satisfactorily explain the hiring of (Eric Mangini).

The best course might be to Gus Bradley it. Let Dorsey take a shot on someone who might be good or might be crap, with the understanding that the goal is to amass talent and make the team more attractive for a better coach, who they'll pursue in 3-4 years for a playoff team. Or leave everything as is and let Hue be the guy that either works out or doesn't, if Dorsey thinks the two of them can work together. If Dorsey has doubts about Jackson, the question becomes do you keep a good coach who lead to the same old Browns problems down the line, or do you replace him with a coach whose hire has people scratching their heads, like Mangini, Chud and Pettine did, knowing that you're most likely firing that guy as soon as the talent to go after a better coach is there?
