$750 million, but their latest valuation by Forbes was 2.075 billion so Shad has done pretty well with the franchise at this point. Charlotte is a much larger market when looking at surrounding area as well so 2.3 to .2075 is minimal.

So, the principal owner has to come up with at least 30% of that $2.3 billion, which would be $690 million. That means the principal owner has to be richer than any movie star, rapper, or athlete. So that leaves us with only one class of people- entrepreneurs. Someone who has a very successful business. Oprah is very rich, but I doubt that she could stroke a check for almost $700 million.

I'm pretty sure the new owner will be someone we've never heard of.

Looks like Diddy was one of the first to jump onto the bandwagon of buying a team saying the NFL needs to diversify. Hey, I'm all for diversification, but Diddy can't afford a team on his own and I can guarantee ol' Jerry isn't giving any discounts. Steph Curry said he would be interested in buying in, but I'm not sure what his bottom line is. I'm not sure what the NFL rules are on liquid assets as well, but I'm sure they would have to have a group of people to come up with the money needed.

There will be multiple people interested in buying this team. Charlotte is a large area, and the fan base makes up almost 2 states.

I saw this. Diddy couldn't even afford a majority ownership stake as it is. Curry is only worth about 60 million right now and i'm not sure how much of that is liquid. If anybody can pull this off....and it would take a partnership, I can see Jordan putting together a team to buy it. He's already got the Hornets in Charlotte, why not make a monopoly of the sports teams in Carolina?

I doubt Michael Jordan could come up with $700 million in cash. They're going to want someone a lot richer than Michael Jordan.
