Does Anyone Get The Feeling That Caldwell Has Mailed This Season In? Part 3

#26

Quote:What talent did we have? Cox who would get hurt half the year, every year? Knighton who was incredibly inconsistent? A 32 year old Daryl Smith? No thanks.

Say we went out and spent on a top class LB and G, we would still not be better than 6-10. The QB is the main problem. They know Blaine is bad, theyre trying their best to make him improve but he would hold the team back no matter what. If there was a rookie QB worth taking at 2 im sure we would have seen more enforcement's brought in.

Gratz replaced Cox. Guess which one is hurt right now?

Knighton is a clear upgrade over every single DT on this team. Can you imagine how good our line would be with Knighton and Marks playing together?

Daryll Smith, even at 32 is balling right now if you've caught any of the Ravens game this year. Geno Hayes should be a backup on someone's team.

All three guys signed for reasonable and in some cases team friendly contracts. None of them would have hindered the rebuilding process.

This offseason was one of the best when it came to FA offensive linemen. The Titans and Colts each bolstered their line while we sat on our hands and then waste a #2 overall draft choice to pick a RT. Overlooking the fact that there were at least 3 RTs capable of playing at a high level sitting in our faces in the free agency market leading up to the draft. We cut Landry for no apparent reason making a unnecessary roster hole and pretty much forcing Caldwell to fill the position via draft. We made absolutely no attempts to upgrade the Center and Guard positions and no attempts at finding a capable #2 wide receiver knowing Blackmon is suspended for the first 5 games. Unless you consider relying on a ragtag group of UDFAs an attempt.

And then we have the most important part. The QB. Caldwell pretty much hung his hat on Gabbert/Henne while other teams went out to upgrade their QB. But I know, I know. Wait until next year.

Right.
