Impressions From the 49ers Game
|
I think the 49ers will be a playoff team next year and they are already playing like one with Jimmy G. Still, the Jags came out flat once again on the west coast and didn't look ready to compete in the 1st quarter. They did an admirable job of getting back in the game, but the soft defense, the penalties, the turnovers and the bad calls sealed their fate. It was good experience to play from behind because they need to learn how to win when the "formula" isn't working. We might have seen "bad Bortles" yesterday, but he still did some good things and wasn't a complete disaster. We might even win a playoff game with "bad Bortles" if the defense plays well. But not if we have 10 penalties and 3 turnovers. Gotta clean that up.
