Bullseye, I think you're misunderstanding what a Pyrrhic victory is; it's supposed to be a case of winning the battle but at such a cost that you've effectively lost the war. In this case we lost the battle/game but won the war/division. Essentially we're the Romans after the Battles of Heraclea and Asculum.
