A beam of light, which travels at a little over 186,000 miles per second , takes about 4 years to span the distance to Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to our solar system. In perspective to the size of the known universe, that's roughly equal to opening your front door and standing on the threshold. This 4 minute video puts the size and complexity of the universe into context.  Link

With that being said (and hopefully viewed), it is my sincerest belief that if an alien civilization found some means to travel these distances in a faster way, and somehow found this speck of dust we call Earth in a seemingly limitless expanse, they would not be satisfied with merely playing peekaboo. We are not being 'visited'. The truth is out there and it is a yet-to-be explained Earth-borne phenomenon.

You have to wonder, though, if a society so advanced to be able to get here might have protocols for contact with underdeveloped intelligence. I mean even our Sci-Fi media has the idea bouncing around that you don't just go land on a planet and hang out with a species that isn't close to your technological capabilities. Who's to say they aren't following similar rules?

You also can entertain the idea of interdimensional beings that we just simply can't see or are so far different from what we perceive as "life". We could be way wrong for what "life" is outside of our own planet.

Yeah... I doubt they're scared of us, so I'm sure they would do it in a way that wouldn't destroy our civilization much like scientist try not to disrupt ecosystems on earth.

If those are the videos they released, then they undoubtedly have far better videos they wont show us.
