Well, after being told we would only get an inch of snow we got six inches in four hours. Our county was not prepared and people freaked out. Thankfully I had nowhere to be and my husband stayed close to work tonight (they were supposed to get all the snow the next county over) so we didn't have to deal with anything. Traffic reports were crazy. Tractor trailers that couldn't get up hills, trucks and regular vehicles sliding down hills and off the roads in general because you couldn't see where the road ended and the ditches began. Kids stuck on school buses because of accidents or just stuck in traffic. We've had 6 inches come down over a two or three day period, never this much in four hours. As cold as it's been and will be the rest of the week it won't be melting soon either.

My in-laws think we're crazy because we're preppers of a sort. THIS is one of the reasons why we are. I have everything I need stocked up, I have my camp stove ready in case we lose power, we have plenty of drinkable water, plenty of food, and most importantly plenty of coffee. A lot of people were trying to get to the store to buy their milk and bread. I was on my couch drinking coffee and watching Godless or wandering outside to take pictures to text to my family in FL. It pays to be prepared.

Typical blue collar American worker -- looking for the easy road to a free paycheck. LOL .... JUST KIDDING .... BUT IF YOU HAPPEN TO WORK FOR UPS, FORGET ABOUT ANY DAYS OFF .... my cousin works for them in Pittsburgh and they never shut down (rain, floods, snow, ice, super bowl parades, etc.).

My stepdad worked for them for 30 years. They said he'd get plenty of time off in retirement to worry about the weather.
