Absolutely, I addressed this earlier. Just change the idea to us being the visitors:

"You have to wonder, though, if a society so advanced to be able to get here might have protocols for contact with underdeveloped intelligence. I mean even our Sci-Fi media has the idea bouncing around that you don't just go land on a planet and hang out with a species that isn't close to your technological capabilities. Who's to say they aren't following similar rules?"

IDK, part of me says they wouldnt bother with us, another part of me says they may just give us some help on renewable energy or cures for diseases that are just out of our reach right now, but nothing super duper high tech stuff...They would more than likely consider where we are at to be old and outdated or obsolete tech that they hadn't even thought of in ages so helping us in that aspect might not be a big deal to them...
