For most of his career, deep throws were not part of the game plan. When the teams gets him a true threat, ala Moss & Cooks, then it becomes a part of their weekly game plan.

In the seasons without a deep threat, the few throws he did make were often off-target. then again, he didn't have a dependable receiver on the other end.

Safe to say there are other QB's in the league that are better than Brady with the deep ball. It seems to be the go-to route for most 'old school' teams, you know, those that can't rely on working their way down the field in a methodical, dominant fashion, drive after drive.
