He's earned himself a deal, maybe a three year extension. But I don't want to see them break the bank for this guy just yet. He's good, not great. Baltimore should be the perfect cautionary tale. As soon as Flacco won his ring they shelled out the mega-millions and he's done nothing to merit that extension since then.

Since 2012 he's had a winning record just once. He's gone 38 - 36 record wise. His statistics have been middle of the pack. And without that vaunted defense that carried him most of his career he's faltered as a leader there for the Ravens. I would say play it safe. If, and only IF Blake goes onto win these next two games. You give him a three year extension with most of the money tied onto the BACK end of the deal instead of up front. Give him a decent signing bonus. That's fine.

But you shouldn't shell out huge chunks of cash for him. Three year extension. Decent signing bonus.
