Even this season (29 years old) his Total QBR was lower than Bortles. 0-2 in the playoffs with a rating lower than Bortles. Bortles is also without a #1 receiver and or a decent tight end. Could Cousins turn out better than Bortles going forward? Maybe, but it is far from a certainty. People get on Bortles for turning it over. His career INT % is 2.9. Kirk Cousins at age 26 had a career 4.7% INT %.

You really have to dig deep cherry picking stats and specific seasons as Cousins not being the full time starter to make Blake's stats look better than Cousins'.

You don't have to dig that deep.

Total QBR this season. Bortles 55.2 (12th). Kirk Cousins 52.0 (17th). Jared Goff 52.0 (16th). One QB excelled in the AFC Divisional game (highest Total QBR for a game of any QB in the playoffs) and the other 2 will be watching this weekend from their couches.

That's my issue. Please explain why you are satisfied with mediocrity? That's my only real problem. I don't get it, at all. You obviously cannot argue that Bortles is a mediocre QB. The people see it, the stats show it, it's a verifiable fact. Why don't you want to try and upgrade. I seriously want to know.

His career trajectory has gone from poor to mediocre which is consistent with most young QBs in the NFL. It stands to reason he could improve with a second year under a good coach. The phenom 22 year old quarterback lighting up the league is the exception and not the rule. People on this board are foaming at the mouth over Alex Smith who when comparing their first 4 years in the league he makes Bortles look like an all pro.
