The pats coached a little better in the second half than the jags, but the jags are limited in their options offensively because they have to constantly guard against putting Blake in a position to turn the ball over. Not exactly a full palette to paint with. 

I'm not whining and complaining. There were some stupid calls and a number of non-calls but not terribly more than there are in most games. 

I actually predicted 24-20 NE if the jags make mistakes and 27-20 Jags if the Jags  don't screw up. We know which happened. 

Defensively - The Jags should have played less zone and played more press - jamming Amendola and Cooks at the line. They didn't. That was a mistake.  They should have kept their foot on the gas on offense in the third quarter - but they kept getting backed up an didn't want #5 to throw picks.  That's an understandable strategy given his history of doing so. 

The Jags are simply a few pieces away on offense from being able to beat the pats right now.  If they had their #1 receiver and a run blocking upgrade or two on the O-Line - they probably pull that one off - even with Bortles.

Why has nobody mentioned the delay of game call late in the first half? I thought that was the turning point. If that play had stood, it's a first down for the Jags, they kill the clock into the half and add 3 or 7 to go up 17-3 or 21-3. Instead, the Patriots drive the length of the field and go into halftime down only 14-10.

Both Belichick and Brady said in their post-dame press conferences that going in at only 14-10 despite being badly outplayed was significant.

Clock management will always be one of the makers of a  good offense, be it getting the plays off in time or managing time outs. Manning, Brady, brees, and Rodgers all have the clocks in their mind as soon as the previous play is dead. Manning by far the most superior. Huddled, call a play, go to line, motion, fake snap, oh then he's hot routing everyone on the field and snapping with a half second left. I'm glad he retired, and the other 31 will be glad when Brady does
