There is no comparison to Garrard.  Garrard played for his contract and got fat and complacent.  Good God, he looked like an offensive lineman when he came to camp.  I don't see that happening with Bortles.  

I don't know what they will do regarding Bortles but you can't compare the two situations.

And Blake isn’t playing for a new contract? His rookie contract is almost up. Of course he’s playing for his future, it would be naive to say he isn’t. And Garrard had a solid year, had a down playoff game but still won then went and balled out in New England. Sounds very familiar and it’s a solid comparison. Blake has shown inconsistency. Just a few weeks ago the fans were howling after he had three amazing December’s games then turned in two flat games against TN and buffalo. Yet we want to anoint him the starter and franchise guy? Id say again, pump the brakes and bring in competition both young and old. If Blake is the guy he will prove it.
