He's a tough kid. Despite all of his ups and downs as a starter that kid has consistently toughed it out. He's durable. You either have that or you don't. I am personally glad he's coming back for at least another year. I think it's the right thing to do by him and it's the right thing for this team right now. He did a lot last year and he was out of his comfort zone if you really look at the receiving core he had to work with.
I think this team is back in the play-off hunt and discussion in nine months from now. Another full off season with Marrone and Hackett. Another off season to add more free agents and a draft to bolster some key spots on the team. I like our chances. 2018 will be an even better year when we win 10 - 12 games since the competition at least on paper looks brutal between the AFC and NFC East.
They'll still bring in another QB though. It'll end up being a guy that's better than Henne. That's for sure. And he'll end up being a guy that could potentially CHALLENGE him for his job. Competition is the best thing for a young team. And having a young gun behind him on the depth chart should make him even better.

I believe even getting Arob back, if 4net stays healthy bb5 numbers will go down next year. This is a run first then run second and pass only when needed offense. This is not going to change no matter what personell we have. There is no part of the playbook for a all out passing attack it just inst going to happen and the sooner the fans figure that out the sooner the will accept that we will not put up 4500 yards passing with any QB.
I keep seeing some version of this posted about the board. It's just not true.
The 2017 Jaguars may have featured the most balanced offense in quite some time.
527 pass attempts (~3600 yds)
527 rushing attempts (~2300 yds)
Where the hell is this run first, run second, pass when desperate crap coming from?
Hackett called a quarter or a half that way here and there throughout the season but not complete games - and he was very balanced on the whole.
Agreed. I think when you factor in that they had no Allen Robinson. Allen Hurns oft injured. Marqise Lee trying to be the guy. Then you had Cole, Westrbook and Mickens involved as rookies. This passing game did enough. It'll get better this off season.
I would expect to see a 55% - 60% ratio in favor of the pass attempts compared to the rush attempts too. But the yardage on the ground will be equal to last year or even better since the passing game should get that damn box unloaded and loosened up.
