We have to hope the guy can keep progressing and develop when he is "more" pain free.  It explains some of the inconsistency.  I'm not sure we have many options this offseason at the QB position.  I really hope we step up to the first place schedule and avoid being a one and done fluke.

There's absolutely nothing about this team that could be labeled a fluke.

The surgery is a complete non-factor.  It was a minor surgery on his wrist with a 3-5 week recovery time.  It won't have any impact on his future abilities, including his ability to pass the physical in March.

Also, ifs and buts work really great in hindsight. Neither player was available to this team this year to have them available in the playoffs, so you might as well say "Tom Brady would have blown out Buffalo with this team." It's a straw man from the start. Bortles got the team to the point where we were still competing for a Super Bowl berth in the fourth quarter of the conference championship game.

You might as well run to your local Costco and pick up a couple of cases of Depends, because when Bortles is back next year, you're gonna need them with all the whining you'll be doing.
