I too myself have doubts about Bortles. But to say with Smith or Cousins, we would have won, I'm not sure about that. I think what ultimately hurt us was coaching/play calling and obviously ref bias. Bortles actually kept us in the games to win. Did he worry us in the beginning of Buffalo game? Sure. But he battled hard and used his other skills to pull help pull out a victory. He made some huge plays in Pittsburgh to help us win that game. And he didn't make any plays against New England that cost us the game really; minus the delay of game.... Uuuhhhggggggg. My doubts with Bortles stem from previous years of inconsistency and horrible decision making. And even though he still showed a little of that this year, it was way better than past years.

The problem with saying bye to Bortles is that there's no true answer out there available to replace him with. Cousins could be the answer; but he hasn't shown anything really to absolutely kick Bortles to the curb. Smith is gone, and he's about the same. The only player that would be a sign me up now is Brees. And he's not leaving New Orleans. So, Bortles it is; draft a young QB to develop behind him and beat the brakes off the AFC next year!
